ACT-Advanced Non-Surgical Clubfoot Treatment Provider Course.

A team of therapists who participated ACT-Advanced Non Surgical Clubfoot Treatment Course in Mwanza.

ACT-Advanced Non-Surgical Clubfoot Treatment Provider Course aims to equip the medical practitioners (trainees) with ADVANCED skills of clubfoot treatment using Ponseti technique for children with Atypical clubfoot, Recurrent clubfoot cases and also treatment of older children.
This training was held on November 17 and 18, 2022 in Mwanza at Leyshof hotel and the practical sessions were held at Sekou Toure Regional Referral Hospital.

This Training, ACT-Advanced Non-Surgical Clubfoot Treatment Provider Course was attended by eight therapists from different hospitals in the Lake Zone and Central Zone and was facilitated by two Trainers from TCCO.

It has been such a week because all the trainees were taught how to treat patients with Atypical clubfoot, Recurrent clubfoot cases and also treatment of older children using the Ponseti technique as a gold standard treatment method.

Nevertheless the training also greatly had a lot of other packages which included.

  • Pre-course and Post course test.
  • Revising anatomy and definitions and the clubfoot deformity – CAVE
  • Training participants how to use the ADVANCED Ponseti techniques and skills of manipulation
  • Practical sessions involving Hands-on manipulation on models and live clubfoot children.
